Crystal Clouds
Completion: 2018
Location: Austin, TX
Description: Inspired by crystalline structure of topaz, the state gemstone of Texas found locally in the Hill Country, Crystal Clouds is composed of tetrahedral clouds. The clouds are created from a thin aluminum framework and 3D printed hardware integrated with triangular panels of dichroic acrylic. The multifaceted orientation incorporates the viewer’s movement, color, and natural light to create a dynamically changing experience that reflects and transmits color reactive to the atmospheric conditions of the space.
